Issue Position : Housing

Issue Position

More and more people are struggling to find affordable housing. This is partly due to slow wage growth, which I discuss more in the economic security for middle class families section, but there is more to it than that.
In the last legislative session, I supported legislation to create an interim study to examine affordable housing issues. The final report of the study has not come out yet. It will be up to the next legislature to decide how to tackle housing issues at the state level, and the report will have some recommendations to help guide us.
What I can tell you is that my record shows a clear difference between me and my opponent on how we approach issues like housing costs:
My record shows that I go with solutions that support workers. I believe in getting as much information from all perspectives and making decisions that do the most amount of good for the most amount of people the most amount of the time in the most efficient way possible. I vote for and support the hard-working middle-class and working-class people trying to provide a good life for their families
My opponent's record shows that she sides with developers and corporations. She votes with them after taking their money, which makes up a significant part of her campaign contributions.
